All about Hudson...

Hudson is gaining quite a vocabulary. He started with animal sounds; however, he is starting to say most of them by name now. When looking at his animal book he will say the following: puppy, horsey, moose, mouse, porcupine, giraffe, monkey, piggy, cow, hippo, rhino, kangaroo, ladybug, cheetah, birdy, turtle, zebra, and butterfly. Most other animals still are referred to by sound such as "rooar" (lion, tigers, and bears),"meow" (kitty), "ribbit ribbit" (frog) etc, and he calls an elephant "tusk"! Hudson knows most of his colors. The list includes red, blue, green, purple, yellow, brown, pink, and black. He can count to three. All numbers higher than three are also three! He loves apple juice, Cheez It crackers, "puppy crackers" (which are wheat Saltines w/ peanut butter), waffles, yogurt/pudding (both are called "p"), and mandarin oranges. He sleeps pretty consistently through the night; however, there are, on occasion, some exceptions where he gets to sleep beside Mommy (thankfully these are few and far between). Bedtime is usually between 8 and 9 pm. He will usually wake up around 7:45 am to watch Spongebob on the couch with a blanket on his lap, a cup of apple juice, and a poptart (in a bowl!). Hudson takes one nap a day which usually lasts between an hour and an hour and a half; however, lately he's been gabbing away instead of sleeping. Over the past few nights he has been requiring more and more guests in his bed. Last night moose, meow, monkey, puppy, and horsey ALL had to sleep with him. Although he does not take a ginky (binky) during the day, unless he finds one lying around, he has to sleep with two. When he gets really sleepy he rubs one in his eye while sucking on the other. Hudson looks like a bobblehead head doll when shaking his head "yes" and "no". When Hudson is deliberately misbehaving, it usually involves him throwing something. He gives great raspberries. If he sees bare skin you are in trouble! Hudson says "bless you" when HE sneezes (or Sammie sneezes). He know his sports! He will say "hockey, basketball, b-ball (baseball), and touchdown (football)" when the appropriate sport is on Sports Center. The couch has become his personal jungle gym. He especially likes to walk along the back of it. He enjoys and says bubble bath! Squirrels are called "Sambie" because Sammie barks at them all day long. Hudson likes to wear his shoes ALL DAY LONG! He also likes when Mommy and Daddy say "give me five, brother" and he usually slaps our hand 3 times in a row. Hudson speaks with a deep, scary voice when he says "cookie monker (monster)" *and sometimes when he says "cereal bar"! He knows the meanings of hot & cold and up & down. He sounds so adorable when he says "OOOOhhhh NO"! Hudson is a happy, patient boy. He will often pick a toy out from the playroom and quietly play. He rarely touches anything on a shelf or stand (it's actually pretty amazing). At 22 months old I cannot keep up with how much he is learning each day! I'm sure there are many more amazing little details that I'm forgetting to mention here, but at least you'll get a glimpse of why we are so lucky!
P.S. Of course we feel just as lucky to have our B-Man, but I'm waiting until the 21st (when he will be 10 months old) to brag about him :)
