Butt Maker

Hudson is on his way to being a typical boy! We see lots of nose picking, hear lots of booger talking, and he calls himself a "butt maker", whatever that means! He purposely takes Bryce's toys just to hear him yell and cry...and he laughs about it. Can't wait for Bryce to reach this stage next year (insert lots of sarcasm here ;))!

Who loves (fill in the blank)?...

The boys were too too adorable on our way home from the grocery store this evening! I asked them who loves Mommy?...they both said MEEE! I love how Bryce copies Hudson these days because it makes him look like such a big boy! Since I thought this was funny I asked about Daddy, Hudson, and Bryce then Bryce took over! He started naming Mark, Noni, Papa Ray, and Dana! I especially LOVE how they raised their hands when saying MEEE! Thank goodness I had my camera with me!

Party Time

The boys were invited to celebrate Lucas' 5th birthday once again at Bounce Around! They were able to do so much more with little or no help this year versus last year. Hudson was a ball of energy and ran from slide to bounce house to the maze and mastered all of them by himself. Bryce spent most of his time in the bounce house and wanted Mommy right there by his side. He kept saying "jump, mommy. no monkeys." I had to hold him, jump, and sing "no more monkeys jumping on the bed". The boys sat like big boys with all of the other kids while they ate. Hudson gathered candy very well from the pinata and Bryce couldn't wait to get some cake!

Weekly Roundup...

Each morning before we go into school Hudson and I have to run down and up the ramp on the sidewalk. Hudson yells "whoa. whoa." like we're on a fun roller coaster! Once I realized that I look forward to this little adventure too I knew I had to take my camera to capture this moment...parents staring and all, lol!

The boys are getting pretty good at navigating the apps on mommy's phone! One of their favorite apps is Sweet Talk. There are 5 different mouths and each one says something different. While Bryce loves this app just as much as Hudson, Bryce will only turn it on and put it in front of someone else's mouth. He never wants it on his face!

Sometimes the cheapest toys are the boys favorites! These bug masks were from the dollar bin at Target. Bryce acts like he's a superhero when he wears it!

Bryce cut a summer cut!! He was such a little ham sitting in the chair at the salon! He kept making faces in the mirror and had everyone smiling, as usual!

While on the hunt for summer sandals we ended up getting the boys new tennis shoes. Bryce wanted Woody Buzz shoes so badly and threw a little fit so we left the store. On our way home Daddy decided to chime in and say we should have just let Bryce get the shoes. I'll admit it. I hate the shoes! They even light up! Double hate, lol! So before we even made it home Bryce and his shoes were reunited! He even wore them out of the store! Yes, we are still in need of those sandals!

Crying over spilt milk

As you can see by Bryce's little hand in the photo above he was very excited about Mommy's little project and just couldn't stay away while I worked! I ordered canvases of their superhero pictures but did not realize that I had to assemble them myself! I spent a lot of time getting everything just right so I was so upset when my little helper threw his monkey milk and got it on one of the photos just as I was trying to hang them up! After literally crying over spilt milk I finished hanging the pictures and then rearranged the room so that I could put a lamp in front of B's "stain"! One day we'll look back and laugh at this, right?! Regardless of the new imperfection I think the wall groupings look so great and I cannot stop smiling when I whenever I go into the boys' rooms!

Akron Zoo

Since today was such a beautiful day Daddy planned a family trip to the zoo! The boys were very excited and Bryce kept saying "zoo!" as he stood by the door waiting to leave. Hudson squealed "weee, weee" like the piggy commercials as we began our adventure. The boys were both very well behaved. Hudson calmly walked with us and held our hands without any problems. Bryce got a little side tracked and would run off a little when he got excited and didn't want to hold hands, but that is exactly how Hudson behaved last year so hopefully this will be the last season of straying kids (yeah right, I know! A momma can dream :))! We rode the carousel at the zoo too. Hudson chose to ride the big giraffe and Bryce wanted to ride the zebra; however, it was occupied so he chose the eagle! After the zoo we picked up McDonald and then went to visit Noni and Papa Ray...the boys enjoyed seeing them and having a picnic on Papa Ray's back deck just as much as they enjoyed the zoo!

You've got me feelin' Emotions!

I'm not sure where Hudson learned to express his emotions but out of nowhere he decided to show me his many faces! He yells "ROAR" when making a grumpy face. He squints his eyes and purses his lips for a sad face. He smiles sweetly to express happy. He looks pathetic and points to his tummy to represent sick. The many faces and emotions of Hudson are very entertaining!

Bad Choices- 1 Good Choices- 1!!!

Hudson has been getting some "bad" reports from school lately. Let me begin by saying "bad" is by no means BAD; however, he has been definitely testing his boundaries. On the list of "bad" behavior Hudson has spilled his milk on purpose and refused to clean up his mess, he has ripped a book, he has thrown a muffin, and just acts silly! Keep in mind these actions are not an indication of his entire day at school, but it does get exhausting constantly hearing negative reports so I thought long and hard about what we could do to help remedy the situation.
Toys are Hudson's first love so I came up with the idea of making a "Good Choices" box and "Bad Choices" box. The "Good" box would have small rewards to help encourage good behavior. If Hudson would decide to continue his "bad" behavior after several warnings he would have to put a toy in the "Bad" choice box.
Hudson's first experience using the new boxes was unfortunately with the bad box! He had to put his lion, spider, and shark in the box and he cried! He also told me that I hurt his feelings! This was a good thing! We've never gotten that kind of reaction from Hudson utilizing timeouts, yelling, or with spankings so hopefully we found his weak spot!


Hudson's first day back to school since our new box method was a SUCCESS! He was much more calm, happy, and behaved! As a matter of fact Hudson got a good report all 3 days of school this week! Let's just hope this good behavior continues!!

Hudson earned, and named, his crocodile "Home Depot" because I was so proud of him for making good choices and getting a great report at school!
