Is that Pie in your Eye?

A month or so ago Hudson got such a big belly laugh while watching a cartoon where they were smashing pies in each other's faces!  Immediately I thought this would be something that the boys would love to do together!  Off to the back yard with all of our necessary supplies, and were ready for action!  At first, they didn't know what to do, so I smashed a little pie in Bryce's face.  His first reaction was of anger and he screamed...until I told him to go get Hudson!  Then it was on!  They both laughed and chased each other around the back yard.  Eventually they got bored chasing each other and Hudson came after me!  He kept saying "but Mama!  I want to smash a pie on YOU!"  We definitely needed to head straight to the bathtub after this activity!  Good thing Bryce and I picked up bath crayons at Toys R Us yesterday!

At first, B was MAD!

Book Store!

The boys love going for a drive- (Bryce asks daily to go for a ride in mommy's car!), so as soon as they woke up we headed for Barnes and Noble so that I could get books 2 and 3 of the Fifty Shades Trilogy.  Brian bought me the first book for Mother's Day and it just cut off at the end!  I couldn't wait to get started on the next book!  Barnes and Noble has a great kids section and the boys had a lot of fun playing.  Of course Bryce cried when we left (this is a common occurrence these days with B).  Once we got home it was time for some pie throwing fun...

One tired little toy!

Seriously, it doesn't get any cuter than this!  Bryce made his own bed in the toy chest, climbed right in, and feel fast asleep!

The Lorax

We took the boys to the cheap movies to see The Lorax.  We figured that there would be less of a crowd at this theater and since it was Bryce's first movie we weren't sure what to expect!  The movie started off a little slow and the boys, especially Bryce, were a little preoccupied with pulling seats down and letting them spring back up.  Brian and I each had to take Bryce into the lobby for a few minutes so that he would calm down a little.  When I took Bryce into the lobby we grabbed a few snacks before going back to our show.  For future reference snacks are the ticket!  He ate his M&M's and enjoyed the rest of the movie!  Now he waves at the theater and says "Hi, Lorax" anytime we drive by!  All in all the boys did good.  We'd still wait before taking them to a crowded current movie though.

Teacher Appreciation

May 7th began Teacher Appreciation Week.  The previous weekend I asked Hudson what he wanted to make for Ms Mary Ann and he quickly replied "a sandwich!".  Since we weren't sure if she would appreciate a sandwich we opted for an apple theme instead!  We I wrapped an apple scented candle in tissue paper and added a little detail so that it looked like an apple.  I also wanted to take a treat to class with Hudson.  Originally I wanted to take donuts with red icing but learned that Dunkin Donuts only carries certain colors for certain seasons.  Instead we asked the bakery at Walmart to add some red frosting to cupcakes and we added pretzel stems and paper leaves.  Since the gift was from Hudson I wanted him to "sign" the card.  He said he drew a snake for his signature!  Hudson was extra spunky the morning we delivered our gift so I wasn't able to get any pictures of him with his teacher!  He was too busy trying to sit in a yellow chair that a little girl just got up from...she was NOT happy about that, lol!  Hudson has grown so much from his first year at "preschool".  He will be moving to a new classroom the first week of June ready to start pre K.

Boardman Park

Today went to play at Boardman Park.  What we will remember most about that day is how Bryce decided to let go of the swing while he was in mid air!  After a few tears and a lot of kisses he recovered just fine!  Thank goodness!  Hudson found three adorable little girls to play in a covered sliding board with!  He was so cute interacting with them!  I was surprised at how well both boys climbed and maneuvered throughout the big kids' play area!  Be sure to check out how Hudson smiles on command now in the first pic above!  So funny, he says "cheeeese" and gets that painful look on his face!

Happy Birthday, Dana!

Dana turned 22 so we enjoyed pizza and cupcakes at our house to celebrate!  The boys love Papa Ray and adore Cody!  Their two favorite guests of the night :)  Happiest Birthday, Dana!  Hope you enjoyed our company as much as we all enjoyed yours!

Angels by night

I absolutely love checking on the boys while they're sleeping!  Something so amazingly sweet and innocent about them when they're peacefully resting!
