Mill Creek Park

Although it was chilly out today we went to the park to enjoy some fresh air. Our first stop was the Lily Pond. Seems as if all of the duckies have already headed down to Florida- it was a pretty empty pond. The boys had fun just walking the path and peering through the fence. Next, we went to the Flower Garden. The ground was a little bumpy for Bryce. He fell about every 10 steps but was all smiles to be walking like his big brother!

Sick No More!

This momma is finally all better! I started feeling sick last Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday were absolutely terrible. So much sinus pressure, so much noise w/ two little boys- I haven't felt that bad in a very long time; however, I'm so excited to say that I've survived :) Although last week wasn't too exciting, I did want to share some cute pics of the boys enjoying a laundry basket ride given by their Daddy! Who needs toys?...

Best $7 Towels Ever!

While at Walmart last weekend Hudson picked out Woody (which he calls Boy Cow) and Buzz towels for he and Bryce. He has a slight love for Toy Story 3 although he has never seen any of them! Tonight after their bath we let them run around in their new towels. I underestimated how much they both would love them. They were instantly giddy and running around. So adorable!

We went to Whitehouse Fruit Farm today for their annual Fall Craft Show. I love this time of year! The weather is usually perfect. I love all of the colors, pumpkins, apples etc. Of course the boys had to each get a pumpkin to decorate. I recently saw a Mr.Potato Head kit to decorate pumpkins in a magazine so I was on a mad search for something like that since the boys are too little to carve them. Hudson and I ran to Target to get the kits without Bryce because he just woke up from a nap and was cranky. Since I didn't want to influence his decision I placed each set on the floor where Hudson could reach them and let him pick them out. He picked up Cookie Monster and said "this is for Brycie". I then asked him which one he wanted and he chose Spiderman. Elmo was a vampire with fangs and Hudson said "Elmo's scary" so he didn't make the cut :) Once we got home the boys were excited about their pumpkins. They were sitting on them, rolling them across the living room floor, and trying to eat them! Cookie and Spiderman were not easy to install since the pegs are not sharp and are made of plastic. We had to use a corkscrew to start the hole and OF COURSE the boys wanted to play with that rather than help decorate their pumpkins! Sometimes these festive ideas of mine do not go according to plan; however, these boys are creating some really special memories for us!

Official Walker

Bryce is getting more confident, stable, and stronger everyday! He will now walk from room to room . Although he's been taking a few steps for weeks now (and he stills keeps his arms out for balance), I'd say he's officially a walker!!

Hudson's Eye Appointment

Shortly after Hudson was born we noticed that his eye looked a little "off". We weren't sure if it was a lazy eye but we did ask the pediatrician and he said that we should give Hudson until the age of 2 to see if this would be something that he would grow out of. This is definitely something that has not gone away so we were referred to a ophthalmologist. Hudson and I met with the doctor last Wednesday (Sept 15th) and were a little surprised at the news we received. The doctor feels Hudson has intermittent exotropia, a muscle imbalance that causes the eye to drift outward. This condition would require surgery to correct. Since she does not operate on children she referred us to a specialist at the Cleveland Clinic. Our next visit will be October 5th so I'll update with more information after that.

Vacation- Part 2

We checked out of Sesame Place on Monday Sept 6th and drove to Billy & Laura's home in Scituate, MA. They have three children of their own so the kids were loving their new playmates. Although we stayed at the Cohasset Harbor Resort, about 15 minutes away from them, we spent most of our time with the Hoover family and my brother! Billy and Laura have an amazing view and you can see the kids looking for crabs in their "backyard"! As Laura so nicely put it "yards are overrated". *With a view like that she is so right!! After the kids got soaked and dirty we were introduced to a Hooverism...taking a tubby! All kiddos pile on in to get nice and warm and clean too! We had a great week with the cousins and I think Hudson even fell a little in love with Charlie. I think that means he's going to like older, bossy women ;).

There's no doubt about it that Bryce is our little rock star! He'd much rather play with toys that play music than read a book. He also does not hesitate to bust out a few moves anytime he hears music! After our visit to Sesame Place I decided to pull up some videos from SesameStreet.org to keep the boys entertained in the hotel while we got ready. The Elmo Slide video was played time and time again. Bryce grooved each and every time!

Okay friends, family, co-workers etc. Yes, I realize that most of you will fit into several of those categories :) I've been posting to this blog for over 2 years now! Wow! 2 whole years! Sesame Place!!

So we had a wonderful wonderful time at Sesame! The weather was perfect and everything was really geared towards little kids. The park was not overly crowded and since the boys are still little they weren't too interested in waiting in lines for the rides. We did go on the Flying Fish ride (which Hudson wanted to sit in the Pig Fish) and we did watch an Elmo show and the parade. Other than that we did a lot of site seeing and then spent Day 2 in the water areas. We also had lunch w/ Big Bird and Friends on Day 2. Bryce HATED the characters and screamed when they came near him. Hudson was curious but very serious when he saw them. We will definitely take the boys back!! *Once we left Sesame on Monday morning we drove to Boston! All about that next...

First Family Vacation

Okay, back to reality and back to blogging! We finally took a family vacation and are just now getting settled. Last Friday we left after work and drove to Sesame Place near Philadelphia. We left around 5:30 and arrived around midnight. Our goal was to have the boys sleep for most of the drive; however, they didn't fall asleep until 10:00. Another misconception was that we would be able to gently move our sleeping babes to our beds in the hotel and they would continue to sleep. Ha...that didn't happen either! The boys were wide awake once we checked into our room and they were rather fascinated with their surroundings. Hudson loved trying to make calls on the room phone while Bryce wanted to bounce on the bed and climb on all of the big, fluffy pillows! Once they finally fell asleep we had a good nights rest and an even more wonderful weekend at Sesame Place...more about that next.

Early Birds

It's not too often that the boys get up before I leave for work. It actually works out okay since then I can leave without a baby crying for momma (and without momma crying because she has to leave!). This morning B got up very early...just look at those eyes- he does not look like a boy ready to be out of bed! I had to finish getting ready so I put him in his jumper and turned on cartoons. Gave him a grape poptart and all was well in the world! Bryce fell asleep in his jumper shortly after I put him there. As I was putting him back into his bed, Hudson woke up crying. This was just minutes before I had to leave, so I did the same for him as I did for his little brother...turned on the cartoons and gave him a grape poptart. Again, peace was restored!
