Look Who's Standing! (and other misc)

Each day Bryce stands all by himself more and more. Walking should be right around the corner!

Playtime: Hudson's looking for food while Bryce eats it!

These boys are like vultures when they see a basket of laundry. No matter what they are doing, the run to a fresh batch of clothes...to toss them all around! If only they knew how to fold it!

Cleveland Zoo

Since both of our families have memberships to the zoo, we decided to meet the Franks in Cleveland. All of the kids love animals and we were excited to get them together since they don't see too much of each other. Although it appears as if the kiddos loved the misting water fans the most, we all had a really great time! Hudson is still talking about the zoo and his tickets today...there are pictures of animals on the tickets and Bryce keeps bending them! All I keep hearing is "No, Bryce. My tickets...STOP"!

1 & 2 Yr Check-Ups

Today the boys had their check-ups. Although they are both peanuts, they are both healthy and certainly happy! They were very well behaved while waiting to get called into the office. They sat side by side (across from another little boy) and colored and laughed. Bryce weighed in at 19 pounds 6 ounces and is 29 1/2". He received 2 shots, one in each arm, and was not a happy camper. Poor baby screamed! Bryce was actually very upset even when the doctor wanted to look at his ears etc. He doesn't like to be bothered. Hudson, on the other hand, was a big boy today. Not only did he get weighed on the big scale (at a little over 23 pounds) but also got his blood pressure taken. When getting into serious mode he tilts his head down and looks out through the tops of his eyes while holding his mouth open a little, lol! I believe Hudson was 33" today. Progressing to big boy status also means I don't get the updated stats sheet from the nurse that I'm used to getting- I did not realize this; therefore, I didn't log Hudson's information. Anyways, today we asked about Hudson's eye (like we have in the past) and since he is now two years old and hasn't grown out of it we were referred to a ophthalmologist. The pediatrician is thinking he may need glasses to strengthen his weak left eye, but we'll see after his next appt. Finally, while at DQ this evening Hudson fell and hit his mouth on the floor! The inner corners of his two front teeth are slightly chipped and I'm devastated! I am new at this mom thing so I have no idea how to handle such a situation! We immediately came home and I called Urgent Care. They advised me to call the dentist. Since his teeth are not loose and they do not seem to bother him at all, the dentist thinks everything is fine. He did say that he'll look tomorrow if I want- so I'll wait to see how he's acting tomorrow. I do think that he is fine and it definitely hurt Mommy more than him!!

Mill Creek Metroparks Farm

This afternoon we took the boys to the Mill Creek Park's farm. We toured a couple of barns which housed newborn pigs (only 2 days old), ducks, goats, a baby calf, horses, chickens and even a donkey. We even went on a tractor ride and walked through the garden of scarecrows. I had to get a picture of "touchdown head"- I wanted to remember the funny things that Hudson says now because I'm sure he'll be grammatically correct before we know it! Hudson loves animals and is still talking about the farm tonight. *Good thing he got to see a real farm- up until today he thought the farm was Jill's house because Chad has a plastic farm on display.

WHAT could be so funny?

Bryce is our little clown. It has been said time and time again that he loves attention. Now that he's getting bigger, he's been getting that attention from his big brother. Hudson finds Bryce very funny and he even says so! "Brycie's funny" is ofter heard during bathtime and also at dinner time. I've built up the suspense long enough....
THIS is what was so funny tonight!!

Little helpers

As of right now, my camera is MIA :( I'm hoping that it pops up soon. I feel like I missed out on some great photo opportunities today! You'll just have to image the cuteness....
While I was hanging pictures in Bryce's room (which have been sitting on his dresser for a couple of months), Hudson was too adorable in trying to design himself! He would take a picture and hold it up on the wall (just like Mommy) and he would say "it can go there..." (just like Mommy)!
Hudson then tried to occupy Bryce by playing "peek a boo" in the closet. He would shut himself in, and I could hear him say "Hudson's in the dark", then he would open the closet door and say "peek". Bryce would crack up at this!
Finally, the boys were opening the kitchen cabinets and taking out the cleaning supplies. (Bryce follows Hudson's lead in everything they do- even though he has no clue why). Hudson got out the dishwasher detergent and proceeded to open the dishwasher, turn the soap holder, and pretended to pour in the soap! I'm honestly surprised he didn't actually wash them and put them away :)
YES, they are amazing boys :)

New Shoes

Since this blog is a great way for a busy mom to log the moments that she doesn't want to forget, I MUST write about our shoe shopping experience...I've been eyeing these Nike Shox for sometime now, but didn't want to spend the money on them and I also wanted to wait until Bryce was walking so that I could get both boys a pair. *You may notice that they are Steelers colors so I thought that Daddy would love them! Last night the shoes were on clearance AND they had them in both sizes that I needed! When getting ready to try the shoes on Hudson, the sales woman apologized for something and Hudson said "it's okay" which sounds so hilarious coming from him! The lady instantly smiled and we both got a good chuckle. Once I got the shoe on Hudson's foot I asked him "How's that feel?"- NEVER expecting an answer he replied "feels good"...Oh.My.Goodness. How grown is this boy?!
*P.S. Bryce is not yet walking, but hopefully soon!

SCARY

This is too funny! Ask "what does a piggy say?" and this is the face that you get! (I really wanted to get a shot of those top teefers and this is the only way.) While this is not the clearest photo if you look closely you can see those top, gapped teeth :)

Hungry!

Give these boys a spoon and they are H-A-P-P-Y! Nothing says Big Boy like feeding yourself. The last few nights I put Hudson in the bathtub while he fed himself a snack so that he could make all of the mess he wanted (which, if you know Hudson, there wasn't much of one at all!). Bryce, on the other hand, loves to make a mess- but he's such a good eater right now so I'm not complaining!
