Too Cute

This outfit was a gift from Great Grandma Dee (wow, that's a mouthful to say...I vote that we shorten her name to Gigi (for Great Grandma)) and Hudson looked too cute! Of course, while he was awake he would not cooperate for a picture because he only wanted to eat, and when he eats he then wants to sleep, so as you can see we get another sleeping baby picture!

Official Due Date

Today is Hudson's actual due date; however, as you are well aware, he greeted us almost 3 weeks ago. So far we've learned...

• Hudson has the longest lasting hiccups ever (like 10 minutes straight!)
• Hudson sleeps pretty much through the night (with the exception of waking to eat every 3-4 hours)
• Hudson makes lots of goat noises
• Hudson pees constantly
• Hudson hates bright lights (we have about 200 pictures with his eyes closed because of the flash)

I look forward to what each day brings as I learn something new about Hudson! This is the greatest adventure and I feel so lucky!

Tummy Time

Our first attempt at Tummy Time was not a success...he thought I gave him a really comfy pillow to sleep on!

Our second attempt was a hit! Hudson was pulling his head up and turning it from side to side!

*Yesterday he weighed in at 6 pounds!

No strings attached

What started out as a very uneventful day has turned out to be a big day for Mr. Hudson...He officially has a belly button! No more cord attached. We found his little nub in his diaper as we were undressing him for bath time. I can't believe he's getting so big :)

Wide Awake

When Hudson is awake he has the most beautiful, curious eyes! Noni came to visit this evening and Hudson was nice and alert for her (finally!), that is until she fed him! Eating puts him right to sleep.

Baby's first check-up

Hudson did really well at his first Dr's visit. He now weighs 5 lbs 5 ozs and is 18 1/2" long. The Dr was very happy with his growth thus far as he exceeded the standard expectations!

Mommy & Me

Well, all good things must come to an end...Brian's vacation is now over as he had to return to work today. We were all very sad to see him leave this morning. It was so much fun spending last week together. So today it was just Hudson and mommy...until mommy got scared when someone was knocking at the door and Aunt Deb and Kelly had to come right over (long story).

This is how my little darling shows that he's hungry (if you look close you can see he is sucking on his middle finger).

All of the books say to rest when baby rests...this is something that Brian & Sammie take very seriously :)

Hudson's Big Adventure

Hudson went on his first outing today for a naked baby photo shoot! Papa's friend's wife is a photographer so she took pictures to capture Hudson at one week old! Hudson does not like being a naked baby...he'd rather be swaddled so cozy and warm!

With all of the excitement (and nakedness) Hudson decided to pee on both mommy & daddy. *Above is daddy's pant leg covered with pee!

Like a true diva, Hudson had to take a break on the set for a snack!

The photos should be ready in about 2 weeks, so I'll be sure to share some then!

He also managed to stay awake for his first visit from his Great G'Pa, Noni, & Aunt Daners!

Sleepy time

Since Hudson sleeps pretty much all of the time, I don't have too many stories yet, so I thought I'd share some precious pictures of him doing what he does best!

Hudson received a wonderful fruit basket from his Great Grandpa & Grandma Lasher! Mommy & Daddy appreciate the quick snacks!

Today Hudson received his first piece of mail actually addressed to him! It was so thoughtful of Steve, Jenny, and Sully to send some itty bitty clothes for him to wear now!

Each day brings a new set of "firsts"

For such a little guy who sleeps like 23 hours a day, I can sure find lots to brag about :) We're gonna be in serious trouble when he actually starts doing something!

So in LOVE!

Never could I image how much love this little one could bring! I've anticipated Hudson's arrival for so long and have envisioned how wonderful he would make our lives; however, nothing compares to actually meeting him, holding him, loving him! My heart just melts everytime I look at him. It's amazing to wonder what's going on in his little head, hoping he's comfortable, hoping that he'll feel so loved and secure. Now I know I may have a little case of Mommy Vision; however, he is just so beautiful! Really, he is!

Blue for a Boy

I've taken off the hot pink toe nail polish and it has been replaced with baby blue

(or, as I like to call it, Hudson Blue).

Now my fat feet are labor ready :)
Brian had to polish my toes as it's a little difficult to reach them these days.
He did a great job, although he does have a very strange way of holding the brush.
You can definitely tell that he's never done this before:)
