Here Daddy

There are many things that I love about these pictures. One thing is how Hudson's feet are crossed while he is watching TV. Another is how he fits perfectly next to his Daddy. And finally, I LOVE that Hudson wants to share his snack with Daddy!

Stop, Drop, and Roll

Hudson and Bryce are at the age where their interaction is rather unique. Bryce was sitting on the floor all by himself when Hudson decided to sit directly in front of him. I believe he was even sitting on part of Bryce's leg. Slowly Hudson falls back and Bryce follows this domino effect. While Bryce is getting squished, he decided to grab a hand full of hair. I'm so happy that these two think of this as playing! They were both full of smiles! Hudson and Bryce then rolled their separate ways and their brief playtime was over. I'll take these brief moments of brotherly love as I'm sure they will soon be replaced with yelling and fighting!

These Two Boys

I guess Bryce got tired of waiting for me to get his dinner ready this evening because he fell fast asleep in his highchair. Since he looked so cozy, I let him catch a few zzz's while I caught Hudson making some of his new faces. If you ask "where's Hudson?" he will tightly close his eyes as if that makes him disappear! He even has a new scowl that he makes. This face cracks me up because it always catches me off guard. When you ask him a question, he sometimes looks at you like you are crazy, as if he is saying "WHAT are you talking about"!

AND this is why...

Everywhere we go someone stops to say "look at those blue eyes!" Isn't he just gorgeous? The answer is YES!!!

Mommy's shoe

Lately Hudson has become obsessed with shoes. He wants to wear them as soon as he gets up in the morning and often naps in them (at his request). He loves his "geen" shoes. They are for playing outside. He loves his tennis shoes too. They make a great noise when you stomp on the floor. Pretty much any shoe is fair game in this house. This afternoon he managed to put my shoe on over his much to his delight! I think he may get this shoe obsession from his mommy. I use to try to wear Aunt Deb's ceramic ones, lol!

Totally 80's

Tonight was Lucia's 30th birthday party! What a blast! Lucia went all out on the details. Everything looked great and we all had so much fun! Hudson ran, ran, and ran some more! He met a few friends and even got a kiss from a 17 month old twin! Bryce was his usual smiley self but wanted to be held the entire time so Daddy and I had our hands full! We left the party just before 9pm. I'm surprised that the boys made it that long, but since they were having so much fun we extended bedtime. As soon as we got home, we did a diaper and pj change, Bryce has a small bottle and the boys went right to sleep! Mommy's not too far behind :)

Bryce's First Tooth

While Bryce was laughing yesterday I noticed that gums looked really swollen and even a little bruised. We were sure that his first tooth would appear any day AND today was the day...it was his bottom right tooth! Hopefully it will be really noticeable in about a week or so. I will be sure to post a picture then!

Baby you can drive my car...

Hudson acquired a new toy from Noni & Papa's this past weekend. As you can see- he loved it! Although he's a little short he found many ways to entertain himself, such as starting the ignition, honking the horn and opening the door. The fun never ends!

Potty Training- Take 1

Recently I read an eBook which details how to potty train your child in 3 days. The author feels that 22 months is the ideal age to begin this training and it also emphasized throughout the reading that this will not be an easy task, but you must practice patience. I was so excited and nervous to start this morning and dove right in. So here's how my day went...
After breakfast, around 9:30 am, I dressed Hudson in his BIG BOY underwear! I was instructed to keep reminding him to let mommy know if he had to go potty and praise him if his underwear remained dry. This I did. I sounded like a broken record and even began to make up songs about his big boy underwear.
9:42 am- Hudson had his 1st accident. As soon as I saw his dribble I ran him into the bathroom and placed him on the potty, explained to him that he needs to let mommy know, and gave him fresh underwear.
10:10 am- Hudson had his 2nd accident. This incident was full of drama! I was changing Bryce's diaper when Hudson wondered into the bathroom saying "pee pee" so I ran in to place him on the potty. When I returned to Bryce, whom I didn't place a new diaper on because I rushed to Hudson, he was peeing. Nice...I'm potty training Hudson and getting peed on by Bryce! So I went to get Bryce new clothes, and made Hudson join me since I was watching him like a hound dog, only to come out of Bryce's room to find that Hudson peed in the hallway. At least this was on the tile and was easy to clean.
10:45 am- Hudson had his 3rd accident. I laid him down for an early nap (and a much needed nap for mommy) and heard him yelling "potty". Yay, he's telling me he had to go. Nope, he was telling me that he already went! Time to strip the bed, clean the child, wash some laundry. Needless to say, nap time was not going to happen right then.
11:56 am- Hudson had his 4th accident. He asked for more juice (and the guide says to offer lots of drinks for more opportunities to train) so I gladly gave him more. As he was drinking, I explained that he needs to let mommy know when he has to pee. I swear the words weren't even finished leaving my mouth when he started to go! I scooped him up, ran the potty and repeated all steps, patiently and lovingly, as instructed.
12:14 pm- Hudson had his 5th accident. I believe he was intently watching TV, ignoring all of my reminders, when he started to go. I think by now you've caught on to what I did from here...
12:29 pm- Hudson had his 6th accident. This time I told him that he would get a yummy treat if he put his pee pee in the potty. He was all about the yummy treat (which was a Junior Mint- umm yummy). Hudson ran to the bathroom saying "yummy treat" so I placed him on the potty and explained that he would get a yummy treat if he went potty. Well, he stood up and began playing with the bathroom door and I was sitting directly in front of him repeating the same thing that I've been saying all day when he began to pee on ME! I immediately placed him on the potty and some did make it in there (but I don't think this counts)!
Okay, so by now, I've placed a diaper on Hudson and put both him and Bryce down for a nap. I think that he may not be ready (and I know that I am not) for potty training. I think I'll give him a month or so and try again. Hopefully today will make it a little easier in the future!

B-Man and his Sippy Cup

It took Bryce a few tries but once he realized that juice came from his cup he drank away. I think the cup is very different from his bottle because I would see his chewing on it (like he forgot how to drink). We'll keep trying and he'll have the hang of it in no time!

What Diaper???

After I changed Bryce's diaper this morning, I let him roll around on the living room floor for a bit before dressing him (in clothes). Now, let me make myself clear...he had a diaper ON when I left the room and he managed to take it OFF himself! So when I returned to see a naked baby, happy as could be, waiving his diaper around I was surprised! So, of course, I ran for the camera. He would crack up every time I would ask him where his diaper went.

Beautiful day for a popsicle!

While Hudson and Bryce were watching Sesame Street, I decided to strip them down to just a diaper and take them outside to enjoy a nice refreshing (messy) treat. This is a big deal because this was Bryce's FIRST popsicle!!! He needed no assistance at all. He knew just what to do. While he sat quietly on the blanket enjoying his treat, Hudson ran around the front yard. He was testing his limits...Brian and I kept telling him to stay on the grass. And he did; however, he would run to the very edge of the grass, where it meets the curb, and then he would turn around to see the reactions of mommy and daddy! These kiddos are going to give us a run for our money! (But are worth every penny :))!

Visit from Dee Dee

Aunt Dee Dee came to visit the boys this afternoon. She was even willing to watch them while I went to the grocery store! Thank you, Dana!! The boys always have a great time when Dee Dee is here, so image Hudson's surprise to see her in his room when he woke up from his nap! He said "Deee Deeee.....Noni"! *So, yes Noni, you were thought of today :)

Easter Eggs

The boys transformed these boring ol' white eggs into beautiful masterpieces. Okay, so here's how it happened...First, Bryce tore up all of the newspaper that was down to catch the mess so he was relocated to his highchair to watch Hudson paint. In the chair I let him hold an unpainted egg, which Daddy quickly replied "that's going to end up on the floor"...he was CORRECT! Next, Hudson wanted so badly to eat the paintbrushes. Not sure why, he usually doesn't put things in his mouth, but once he got the hang of what he was supposed to do, he painted away. He really did a great job! Hudson had so much fun that he didn't want to stop painting. He cried "Geen, puple, bue" as we cleaned up the mess, lol! I'm so glad that I got the painting kit this year! The boys are too little to enjoy the stickers or cups of dye, but paint brushes were a hit!

Yummy!
