Our Drive-In

They LOVED turning their headlight on and off!

After the book festival we took the boys to B's favorite store, Target, for some snacks and then went to rent a movie.  We planned to create a drive-in at home since the boys love sitting in our big, plastic bins.  We even had "craft time" and the boys created license plates for the front of their car!  The headlights were my favorite touch because I knew the boys would just love them, especially as it got darker!  We rented Sea Level which was not a huge hit.  Hudson stayed in his car throughout most of the movie.  Bryce, on the other hand, was more interested in playing with his card and eating snacks.  The really big fun came after the movie when we turned on Yo! Gabba Gabba and the boys realized that they made shadows on the wall when they danced around!  Dance party in our living room!  That's how we roll :)

We have been a bunch of sickies in this house!  After a week and a half of illnesses we were ready for a day full of adventure!  Our day began with a trip to Mill Creek Park for the Children's Book Festival.  They had a nice setup and a very good turn out.  They were actually very busy!  The boys were most excited about meeting Curious George so after a few brief activities we got in line to wait to see the monkey.  Of course once it was time to visit George, Bryce got scared!  Hudson was very excited and went right up to him, gave him a high five, and posed for a picture!  We then went to another room where the boys created a masterpiece!  Since we were unsure of how the boys would do waiting yet again for story time to begin we decided to take a walk outside and go home.

Sorry, B, I had to take this picture!  Bryce is full of tantrums these days.  Anytime something does not go his way he breaks into a whining session.  I pray this is just a very short lived phase!

*Cousins*

A friend of mine has recently taken up photography.  We were very lucky to have had her capture pics of Grace, Hudson, and Bryce together!  The boys just adore their big cuz and she couldn't have been sweeter or more patient with them.  Hudson was full of silliness this day and Bryce cooperated for the most part but wasn't really into picture taking.  Grace was a pro.  I love that their personalities still shine in these photos!  I will definitely treasure this collection!

3rd mirror's a charm

No project is complete in the Lasher home without some yelling and tears! I've been dreaming up this superhero mirror since I moved B's room around and hung the Buzz canvases on his wall. After lots of measuring and convos back and forth with a vinyl designer on ETSY the perfect cape and mask were finally ordered. I couldn't wait to get home to hang this today! We used a door mirror and wanted to remove the frame so that it matched the "head". Daddy broke the first mirror while trying to remove the frame a couple weeks ago. Today I was able to remove the 2nd frame very easily, but Bryce jumped on it while I was getting the brackets ready to hang it. Insert lots of yelling here! Finally the boys and I ran to Home Depot for mirror #3 and Daddy was able to install everything while the kids got a bath. Bryce loves his new mirror. He instantly asked for his red "glasses" and then entertained himself with lots of superhero sounds and moves!

On a side note, while yelling at the boys for not listening and breaking mirror #2 (amongst several other reasons) I got the trash can out and threw some of their mismatched toys just laying around away...Hudson cried because some toys were getting tossed. Bryce took a taco shell out of the trash and ate it!

Mmm, mmm Good!

We have the strangest children! It took them awhile to realize that you are supposed to EAT the ice cream cone too! Bryce wanted a spoon to eat his yummy treat and asked for more once his cone was empty. I had to take a bite of his cone to show him that is was edible and he was happily surprised. After a couple bird bites from Hudson all was good with the cone and he ate his too!

We've got wheels, but don't know how to ride them...

On the first nice day since the boys getting their new bikes they were more than excited to take them outside and ride! Both Hudson and Bryce grabbed their helmets and headed out the door so eager to play! After 2 minutes and some pedalling difficulty they both ditched their bikes for other toys :(...Hudson found more pleasure in throwing Iron Man over the neighbor's fence and running in and out of the house to get water from the refrigerator (the boys can now open the fridge! so annoying! we're going to have to childproof that sucker) to fill up the birdbath. Bryce is still enjoying the baby car where he uses his own feet to drive it. Practice makes perfect so we'll have to keep trying until they can ride well!

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail...

Easter Eve the Easter Bunny left a paw print trail on our kitchen floor leading to the boys' new bikes!  At the very last second (like 11:30 pm) I thought this would be adorable!  I wanted to do something a little extra special rather than just parking the bikes in the living room.  I grabbed a piece of cardstock, cut out a pattern and then began sprinkling flour on the kitchen floor to create the trail.  Daddy was silent!  He was probably secretly panicking at the mess, but he didn't say a word!  I went to bed so excited!  I couldn't wait for the boys to wake so that I could see their reaction!  Happy Easter Eve!!

Tough Guy

Bryce is the tough guy around here these days. He's definitely more aggressive than Hudson and pushes, shoves, and takes whatever he wants from someone. Bryce is very dramatic and persistent when he wants something, yet deep down he's a big fraidy cat! Bryce hated the characters at Disney World, he hated the big animals on the Christmas display at Kraynak's, and he was scared of Bigfoot on TV...he jumped up on Daddy's lap and covered his eyes!

EGGcellent Day!

Noni & Papa Ray have BEEN EGGED!!

We filled little plastic eggs with some yummy treats and little Easter Bunny drawings created by the boys. Once we got to G'Pa's house the boys excitedly scurried around the yard looking for the perfect hiding places! Hudson's first egg was hid in the hippo statue's mouth, no big surprise! Bryce must have thought this was a great idea because he removed Hudson's egg and replaced it with one of his own, no big surprise ;). The boys were very anxious to go inside to see Noni and Papa Ray so we had to help encourage them to continue hiding their eggs. Wherever Hudson hid an egg Bryce followed behind and hid one in the same place! At last the eggs were all in their perfect places and the boys were supposed to ring the doorbell and hide as we rehearsed. Instead they rang the doorbell and waited for Noni to answer. They were just so happy to see her! The boys then helped her to gather up the little gifts they scattered around the yard. Once we were all finished we went inside to see Papa Ray! Bryce loves Papa Ray and talks about him almost everyday!

Even more clowns...

The circus excitement continued today! After Hudson and Bryce dressed as clowns and after they had Daddy give elephant rides, Hudson dressed his lion up as a clown...shoes and all! And of course no clown is complete without his hat!

Weekly Round Up

Hudson did such a great job coloring his Spongebob coloring book that he got as a favor from Lucas' birthday party! He was working very hard on staying in the lines!

Bryce loves wearing a backpack around. On this particular day he was going to "Sesame Street". He was very serious about it too!

Don't be surprised if this little nutball becomes a musician someday! Ever since watching HOP he's been jamming on the drum anytime someone on TV does! There's lots of opportunities to bang on the drum during his favorite show...The Fresh Beat Band!

Puzzle time! I am SO impressed at how well the boys can put puzzles together. Maybe I've been holding them back, but I've just recently gave them jigsaw puzzles and they have both mastered them!
