Buzz

Finally!! Mrs Claus picked up this sweatshirt at Disney World, which Santa thought was too expensive (but we all know who wears the skirt around here ;)), because she just knew Bryce would LOVE it! Until now B would not wear it for more than 5 minutes! Luckily he wanted to wear it last night and very proudly put his arms out to fly and even shot the laser on his arm ;)! Noni even sent me a text of him wearing it again today! Good purchase after all! Thank goodness!

Check up

Yesterday Hudson had a follow up appointment at the Cleveland Clinic to see how his eyes are maintaining their control since his surgery this summer. The doctor said he is in "good condition" which is exactly what they could hope for. His eyes only strayed slightly when one was covered, and both stayed focused when he watched programs on the TV (this is when they used to stray the most). Besides waiting an extremely long time and the drive taking over 2 hours to get home in the snow Hudson did very well. He played with other kids and was well behaved...for the most part. He started to get sleepy towards the end of our visit (in his defense we were there for 3 hours...mostly waiting) and he fell asleep 10 minutes after getting in the car!
Dr Utz refers to Hudson as the "cutest patient ever" everytime she see us and I must agree with her!!

**Hudson must recognize the Cole Eye Center now. As soon as we turned onto the street of our parking lot he said "we're there now" to which I replied "yes, sir"...he then said "I'm not sir, only the doctor is called sir!"

It's the little things...

that I want to remember most...like

Hudson chooses a different toy to sleep with almost every night...and if he decides to come to Mommy and Daddy's bed around 4 in the morning (this happens at least once a week) the toy comes too! Hudson only stays shortly before falling asleep and then Daddy takes him back to his own bed.

Hudson constantly steals Bryce's "blue one" (Bryce calls his binky "blue one"). On this particular day Hudson wore it as a hat. When I got the camera to take his pic he yelled "gingerbread" instead of the standard "cheese" (without any prompting from his mama...I was surprised by this word of choice and found it hilarious!)

Daddy took Hudson to see Chipwrecked. This was Hudson's first movie in a theater and he did great. For the next two days he called himself "Diamond" (Simon) and talked about getting bit by a spider (this does happen in the movie) and referred to "Alwin" and "Feodore" as his brothers!

Hudson's favorite snack is chips...he barely eats any chocolate unlike his brother who loves the stuff. Right now he always asks for "firework chips" (Doritos).

While Daddy and Hudson were seeing Chipwrecked, I took Bryce to lunch and Toys R Us with Uncle Mark. Bryce loved a foam Cars chair that folds into a bed so much that he asked Mark to take his shoes off in the store so he could lay down! Bryce also has to sleep on it ON his bed! When he wakes up he usually asks us to bring it back into the living room and even asks us to put in on "mommy's bed" during nap time...he always naps in mommy's bed but always sleeps in Brycie's bed!

And a couple of sweet moments from the boys...

The other night while on the couch (Hudson and I sitting looking at the animal encyclopedia with Bryce standing behing us) Bryce leaned forward and kissed Hudson then me on the top of our head! Seriously, how sweet?!

Tonight I walked by the boys rooms, they were both supposed to be sleeping, when I heard Hudson saying "mom. mom.". I opened his door that he was quietly sitting next to and as soon as he saw me he stood up. I gave him a hug and told him to get into bed. After smothering him with several kisses all over his face he said "Wait. I want to give you a kiss." Don't have to tell me twice ;)! He then said "Mom, would you sleep with me?". Of course I laid right there next to him until he was settled and ready to fall asleep!

Lighting McQueen & Finn McMissile

We got clearanced Cars costumes while Christmas shopping for the boys for under $3 each. Today those costumes made an appearance after our sledding adventure! Although they only kept them on for 10 minutes they shared a smile, hug, and a kiss in them!

Lashing Through the Snow

We took the boys sled riding at the school on Hartzell for the first time today and what an adventure it was!! We had so much fun! Hudson even yelled "that was awesome" when he reached the bottom of the hill! Bryce reminded me of the kid from A Christmas Story the way he was all bundled up. Much to our surprise he left his hat on while we played (all winter we have not been able to get him to keep a hat on, until lately, even then he will only wear it briefly). The boys had to ride down with mommy or daddy because the ONE time that we let them slide down together alone they took a turn directly towards the telephone pole! All I could do was kick the sled with my foot so that they would miss it and Bryce flew face first into the snow...this was when Hudson was yelling "that was awesome" haha! The boys both climbed back up to the top of the hill very well and were very well behaved! Once we decided that it was time to head back home a rosey cheeked Bryce confirmed it. He had enough. After one last ride, tears from Bryce and smiles from Hudson, mommy had to carry Bryce home (until he got too heavy) while Hudson got pulled in the sled. Once we reached our street Hudson decided he wanted to help pull the sled home. Hudson didn't want the fun to end so he laid in the snow. This was the perfect opportunity to teach him how to make a snow angel! While we were taking off all of his wet clothes on the front porch he asked if he could make a "snow cow angel"! Our next winter "first"...build a snowman!

New BFF

Uncle Mark came to visit and the boys could not have been any happier! Bryce especially took a liking to his new best friend. He adored Mark!

Boot's boots

Just this week we've had our first real snowfall this winter. As Hudson and I were walking to the car Tuesday morning he said "I need boots on". He was so right! I promised him that I would take him out that evening to pick out boots and stickers (for potty time). He was excited about our little date and asked the entire drive to school if he could get Boot's boots...he wanted red boots like Boots on Dora. That evening we searched and searched and Hudson couldn't find anything he liked, but thankfully he decided on the blue ones above. I love how "excited" he looks to be posing before school, haha! Hudson was such a good, big boy shopping with me! We walked through the mall without any problems. It's amazing how differently he acted without his partner in crime! Bryce's one on one time with mommy is next...can't wait to see how he acts by himself!

Ringing in the New Year

Merry Merry Christmas

This year's favorites (Thanks to Noni for letting Santa know...)

Hudson: Pop the Pig game/Bryce: Cars racetrack

Christmas was amazing this year! Last year the boys stopped opening gifts very early on, but not this year! They tore through them, wanted everything opened immediately, and wanted more! Bryce was so silly...he loved the Cars wrapping paper. Anytime I would hand him a plain red or green wrapped gift he would toss it to the side and say "No! Cars!"! Next year Santa will be bringing ALL of his gifts in the same paper! Bryce was the first one to wake up this year! He ran out and saw his train table. I then took him to wake up Hudson so that they could come out together and he got so upset...he was very anxious to get to those trains! Just after noon everyone arrived for brunch and the fun didn't end until around 7! The kids absolutely love playing with Grace so spending so much of the day with her is always a treat. The boys had such a busy, fun day that Hudson passed out on me before Noni even left! That night we decided to put them to bed that early and they slept all night long! Christmas with tots is such a magical time of year! I look forward to what the next years bring because I know that their excitement will just keep growing! The Lasher's certainly had a merry merry Christmas this year!
